As one of three BPs, you will support the People Director and wider HR team utilising your first class skills in relationship building and provide solid HR advice and support around engagement, well -being & process improvement.

The Role

To support the Director of People and Organisational Development on the implementation of the People Strategy. To provide a professional service that delivers HR best practice and people focused solutions, supporting the Charity to achieve its strategic objectives.

To act as the first point of contact for all people related matters, providing advice and support to employees and managers across the charity and taking ownership of all transactional matters and ensuring that appropriate action is taken at all times.

To support the Director of People and Organisational Development in setting and monitoring standards that will ensure the delivery of a high performing, innovative business partnering service.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• To contribute to the delivery of the People Strategy
• To support the Director of People and Organisational Development to deliver a holistic HR and Payroll service to the Charity
• Monitor the external and internal environment to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
• To fully understand the Charity’s strategic and operational priorities and provide professional and insightful advice, which is pragmatic and valued, which empowers managers to handle people issues
• To support managers when dealing with people matters with the express purpose of coaching and developing managers’ competencies in this area. Ensuring excellence in the delivery of the core HR across the Charity
• To provide HR advice and support on all HR related issues and take ownership for managing:- Discipline and grievance- Capability, accountability, and performance- Absence management, ill health, and occupational health – Health and wellbeing- Variations to terms and conditions of employment- Recruitment, selection, and onboarding – Probation – Whistleblowing
• To support all areas of the Charity on workforce planning, retention initiatives and organisational development Main Duties and Responsibilities continued
• Assist with HR projects as appropriate to support the implementation and delivery of the People Strategy
• Proactively promote, monitor, and always maintain positive employee relations and engagement
• Keep abreast of employment law developments and best practice, and contribute to the development of HR policies, procedures, and processes
• Attendance at operational meetings to discuss concerns and work with managers to provide appropriate HR solutions
• To oversee and administer new starter information and details including, issuing offer letters and contracts of employment, securing references, right to work in the UK documentation and ensuring that induction programmes are undertaken by the manager.

Experience Skills & Knowledge

Essential Criteria

Candidates must be able to demonstrate the following:

• CIPD qualification or significant experience in an operational HR role
• Demonstrable experience of supporting and delivery of training progammes and workshops
• An excellent understanding of employment law and experience of drafting appropriate documents/correspondence to support HR processes
• Significant experience of providing advice to employees and managers
• Experience of recruitment, selection and onboarding processes
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to lead and guide managers and supervisors and make well informed decisions to progress issues
• Excellent IT skills, including HR Management Information Systems and Microsoft Office packages
• Experience of training and coaching
• Collaborative worker, who can foster excellent relationships and influence at all levels whilst displaying trust, integrity, sensitivity, professionalism, and diversity awareness
• Ensure fairness, consistency, accuracy, and best practice in the application of all HR policies.
• Excellent analytical skills, and the ability to interpret information from a number of sources •
• Ability to influence managers in all areas of people management
• Ability to write clear and concise documents including reports and letters
• Evidence of Continuous Professional Development

Desirable Critieria

• Experience of working in the Charity sector
• Sound knowledge of current and future challenges facing the Charity Sector
• Welsh speaker.
