They are now looking to add a Quantity Surveyor to their local, growing company.

Quantity Surveyor

£40k – £60k Mon-Fri 8:00-4:30pm 20 days holiday + Bank Holidays and Xmas shutdown Potential for occasional flexible hours Construction Local Builders Project Estimating Quantity Surveyor Team Player Growing, local business

The Quantity Surveyor will take lead on concept to completion cost management, including but not limited to – cost planning, variations, tender analysis, contract administration, cost reporting, change management, employers agent and final accounts.

Duties (include but are not limited to):

• Reviewing construction plans and preparing quantity requirements.
• Scrutinizing maintenance and material costs, as well as contracts to ensure the best deals.
• Liaising with site managers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Preparing reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessment, and other documents.
• Advising managers and clients on improvements and new strategies.
• Keeping track of materials and ordering more when required.
• Documenting any changes in design and updating budgets.
• Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
• Traveling from the office to various sites as required.

Person Specification:

• Ideally 3+ years in a QS role, but our client is open to different experience levels
• Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, engineering, management, or similar.
• Construction estimating or finance experience is advantageous.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Sound knowledge of the local construction market.
• Excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to organize, plan, and strategize.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Experience estimating work value from site visits (new build)
• Accurate and thorough
• Good attention to detail
• Team Player
• Relaxed office atmosphere – as long as the work is done
