Are you an experienced Commercial Manager seeking a leadership role within a prominent large contractor in the water industry? Our client, a leading contractor known for delivering exceptional infrastructure projects, is looking for a dynamic Commercial Manager to oversee the financial and commercial aspects of critical water infrastructure projects within the Anglian Water region.

Responsibilities:

• Manage all commercial and contractual aspects of water infrastructure projects, ensuring financial objectives are met.
• Develop and oversee budgets, forecasts, and financial performance reports for projects.
• Negotiate and manage contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
• Identify and mitigate commercial risks, implementing effective solutions to protect project profitability.
• Oversee procurement strategies and ensure value for money is achieved across all project activities.
• Lead and mentor the commercial team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
• Manage change control processes, including assessing and negotiating variations.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, client requirements, and regulatory frameworks.
• Engage regularly with clients and stakeholders to provide commercial updates and address queries.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Commercial Manager in the water sector or related infrastructure industries.
• Strong knowledge of commercial management practices, including contract law, risk management, and cost control.
• Demonstrable expertise in managing NEC contracts (or similar forms of contract).
• Excellent leadership and communication skills to manage teams and engage with clients and stakeholders effectively.
• A degree or professional qualification in quantity surveying, commercial management, or a related discipline (e.g., RICS, MRICS).
• Familiarity with the Anglian Water Framework or similar utility frameworks is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to resolving financial and contractual challenges.
