The ICT Manager is responsible for the strategic and operational management of the company’s information and communication technology (ICT) infrastructure, ensuring its reliability, security, and efficiency. The role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, from network administration and cybersecurity to software implementation and user support. The ICT Manager will lead a small team and work closely with other departments to ensure that ICT systems support the company’s business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning:

• Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and trends, and recommend solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Manage the ICT budget and ensure cost-effective use of resources.

Infrastructure Management:

• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, and wireless networks.
• Manage server infrastructure, including hardware, operating systems, and virtualisation platforms.
• Ensure the availability and reliability of all ICT systems and services.
• Manage cloud based services as required.

Cybersecurity:

• Implement and maintain robust cybersecurity measures to protect the company’s data and systems.
• Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
• Develop and enforce security policies and procedures.
• Ensure GDPR compliance.

User Support:

• Manage the ICT helpdesk and provide timely and effective technical support to users.
• Develop and deliver user training on ICT systems and software.
• Manage the procurement and deployment of hardware and software.

Team Leadership (if applicable):

• Lead and manage the ICT team, providing guidance, support, and performance management.
• Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively.
• Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.

Vendor Management:

• Manage relationships with ICT vendors and suppliers.
• Negotiate contracts and ensure service level agreements are met.
• Manage software licensing.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience in a similar ICT management role.
• Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, server administration, and cybersecurity principles.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Knowledge of UK data protection laws and regulations (GDPR).
• Experience with helpdesk systems and ticketing systems.
• Experience with Microsoft 365.
• Experience with VOIP systems.
