We’re recruiting for an Interim Strategic Procurement Manager to lead a high-profile programme focused on public transport transformation in Yorkshire.

This is a pivotal role within a major public sector initiative, requiring someone who can operate at pace, influence senior stakeholders, and bring strategic clarity to a programme of national significance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead the end-to-end procurement strategy for a major bus franchising programme.
• Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans aligned with public sector governance and commercial objectives.
• Engage with legal, technical, and operational teams to ensure procurement activity supports wider programme goals.
• Manage complex stakeholder environments, including political, commercial, and community interests.
• Oversee procurement processes for multi-million-pound contracts, ensuring compliance, value for money, and innovation

Profile

A successful Interim Strategic Procurement Manager should have:

• Proven experience creating procurement strategies from scratch in complex, regulated environments.
• Strong background in public sector procurement, ideally within transport, infrastructure, rail, bus, FM or construction.
• Experience managing high-value procurements ( multi-million) with strategic impact.
• Ability to navigate political and public sector landscapes with confidence and discretion.
• MCIPS or equivalent qualification preferred.
