A client of ours in the Braintree area are recruiting an Accountant to join their team. This is a full-time permanent position working Monday – Friday 8.00am – 4.30pm and paying 40,000 – 45,000 per annum depending on experience.

Reporting to the FD, key duties include but are not limited to:

Project Financial Management:

• Support accurate accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking for projects.
• Monitor expenditures and report variances.

Cost Control & Analysis:

• Track expenses against budgets/contracts.
• Analyse cost trends and identify risks or savings.
• Ensure proper cost allocation with project managers.

Revenue Recognition:

• Assist in revenue calculation and billing per standards and contracts.
• Ensure timely and accurate revenue recognition.

Project Accounting Support:

• Maintain accurate records of project invoices, costs, and revenues.
• Support month-/year-end closings, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Prepare financial statements and reports.

Financial Reporting:

• Prepare reports on budgets, P&L, cash flow, and KPIs.
• Support audits and ensure data accuracy.
• Handle internal reporting for management and stakeholders.

Collaboration & Communication:

• Coordinate with teams and stakeholders to provide financial insights.
• Ensure alignment between finance and operations.
• Help resolve project finance issues.

Skills and Experience required to be considered for this Accountant position:

• CIMA or ACCA accountancy qualified.
• Previous finance or project accounting experience essential
• Proficient within accountancy software
• Strong Excel skills
• Experience within the telecommunications industry desirable but not essential.
