JOB TITLE & DEPARTMENT: APPLICATIONS ENGINEER (SWITCH GEARS)

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To prepare detailed designs and specific contract works instructions documentation

REPORTING TO: Engineering Director

HOURS: 08 00 Monday to Thursday, 08 00 Friday

EXPERIENCE: Minimum 2years in the Switch Gears Industry

OVERVIEW

Due to continued expansion of the business, our dynamic and enterprising Engineering team are looking to recruit Applications Engineers, to work on the preparation of detailed designs and specific contract works instructions documentation.

Our Applications Engineers are involved throughout the build process. Complying with the agreed build specification and Company design criteria, they prepare detailed designs and specific contract works instructions documentation. They work closely with the Operations Manager to provide efficient and safe application of labour resources in order to achieve production targets and delivery dates.

Along the way, you will be expected to discuss technical issues with our customers, put together purchasing requirements for ordering via our Central Services Department, and compile the necessary data to enable accurate invoicing.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Compliance with agreed build specification and Company design criteria.
• Close liaison with Operations Manager regarding efficient and safe application of labour resources in order to achieve production targets and delivery dates of specific contracts issued by Engineering Director, both within the factory and on site.
• Technical liaison with customers.
• Purchasing in conjunction with Central Services Department.
• Compilation of all data to enable invoicing by Group Financial Director.
• To provide close customer liaison on receipt of orders
• Responsible for engineering orders won by the company, within budget and timeframe, to specification and quality standards and achieve engineering in terms of production and handover dates.
• Responsibility for complying with and implementing the Q&E management system within their area of activity.
