Bid Manager

Join our client’s dynamic team as a Bid Manager, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future success of our business. Reporting to the Marketing & Communications Director, you’ll be at the forefront of managing the tender process to secure new contracts and retain existing ones. This exciting role will also involve contributing to bid activities for our client’s Welcome tender proposals.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide bid management support and take charge of day-to-day bid activities.
• Compile, issue, and maintain the bid compliance matrix, ensuring responsibilities are agreed upon for a seamless bid response progression.
• Produce high-quality, creative bid responses, skilfully articulating win themes throughout the tender proposal.
• Research current and future market trends to ensure our client’s tender proposals remain relevant and innovative.
• Coordinate proposal input from subject matter experts to gather essential information for technical bid responses.
• Champion document management and change control best practices.
• Ensure proposal documents follow our client’s formatting and quality standards, utilising Adobe InDesign for artwork collation.
• Manage our client’s bid libraries to uphold a rich repository of valuable information.
• Assess and address technical and commercial risks related to tenders, consulting with colleagues when necessary.
• Play a key role in scheduling and delivering bid meetings throughout the tender process.
• Keep the wider bid team informed of all tender-related interactions, client communications, document management, and the submission of completed responses.
• Produce compelling tender presentation materials as needed.
• Demonstrate commitment to personal and professional development through timely completion of all training activities.
• Take reasonable care of personal health & safety and that of others, adhering to all health & safety procedures.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

To thrive in this unparalleled role, you will:

• Hold excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at a senior level.
• Demonstrate proven capability in planning, producing, and delivering compliant bids in a fast-paced business environment.
• Possess a good understanding of risk management and mitigation.
• Be APMP certified to at least foundation level or hold a similar qualification/experience.
• Exhibit strong attention to detail and an ability to work under pressure and meet demanding deadlines.
• Be willing to travel UK-wide, with occasional overnight stays.
