Commercial Legal Counsel – Buckinghamshire
Location: Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, FMCG sector (50% remote, 50% office-based per month) – easy accessible from sounding counties
Salary: Up to 90k per annum + car allowance, excellent bonus, and benefits (exellent OTE)

Position Overview: Our client within the FMCG sector based in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire is now seeking Commercial Counsel to support predominantly across the UK with some work in the EMEA region. You’ll work closely with senior management, key account managers, and cross-functional teams, advising on a variety of legal and regulatory matters.

Responsibilities:

• Reviewing, drafting and negotiate B2B supplier and customer contracts.
• Provide legal and regulatory guidance to senior management and key stakeholders.
• Support Procurement with contract reviews and negotiations.
• Advise on anti-trust, data privacy, industry codes, and advertising regulations.
• Offer ad hoc employment law advice to the HR team.
• Develop legal processes, policies, and training materials.
• Research and create legal briefings and guidance notes.
• Handle miscellaneous legal queries and manage external counsel as directed.

Required Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience:

• UK Qualified Solicitor or Barrister
• 4 years plus of relevant post-qualification experience.
• Ideally have FMCG sector exposure, ideally in a multinational setting.
• Strong UK contract law background, with effective negotiation skills
• Understanding of European and US legal systems.
• IP licensing knowledge and experience.
• Exposure to e-commerce regulations would be preferable.
• Familiarity with UK Bribery Act, FCPA, Modern Slavery Act, and UK Competition Law.
• Experience with UK advertising and marketing regulations.
• Cross-functional matrix organisation experience.
• Pragmatic and risk-based approach.
• Excellent communication and persuasion skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
