Position: Commercial ManagerLocation: Huntingdon

Salary: £90-100K plus package (Annual bonus, car allowance, profit share, ongoing development and training, progression to Director)

Role Overview:As the Commercial Manager, you’ll play a crucial role in overseeing all phases of construction projects. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you’ll ensure the commercial success of projects while prioritising client needs. Collaboration with the Construction Manager will be key to project success.

Key Objectives:

• Collaborate with the Construction Manager and Managing Director to develop a robust business strategy.
• Establish and lead a top-tier team of quantity surveyors to deliver profitable projects.
• Identify and capitalise on tendering opportunities to secure lucrative contracts.
• Control costs and meet contractual obligations while ensuring timely payments.
• Develop, monitor, and adjust contract programs to meet project deadlines.
• Drive cost efficiencies through effective design management and procurement practices.
• Resolve contractual disputes promptly and effectively.

General Responsibilities:

• Oversee quantity surveying duties for assigned projects.
• Foster relationships with key stakeholders.
• Support marketing and business growth initiatives.
• Lead tender estimation and planning efforts.
• Review and negotiate contract terms and conditions.
• Coordinate with construction administration and finance teams.
• Monitor project cash flow and mitigate risks.
• Draft and review contractual agreements.
• Manage design processes effectively.
• Develop and maintain construction schedules.
• Coordinate procurement activities with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Negotiate favourable agreements with suppliers.
• Conduct regular financial management meetings.
• Contribute to business plan development.
• Attend board meetings for strategic planning discussions.
