Location: Southampton area
Salary: £50,000 basic + commission (£80,000 realistic OTE + company car)
Hours: Monday to Friday, full-time hours

The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for a Commercial Manager on behalf of an established, service-led business based in the Southampton area.

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially driven individual to play a key role in growing a service department, with responsibility for retaining existing customers, developing long-term relationships and winning new service contracts.

The Role
As Commercial Manager, you will take ownership of developing and maintaining the service contract portfolio, ensuring existing customers are retained while identifying opportunities to secure new business. You will work closely with internal service and operational teams to develop commercial opportunities, improve contract retention and ensure service agreements deliver value for both the customer and the business.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing and retaining existing service contracts, building strong and lasting customer relationships.
• Identifying opportunities to renew, extend and grow current agreements.
• Developing new business opportunities and securing additional service and maintenance contracts.
• Converting reactive service customers into planned maintenance agreement customers.
• Identifying opportunities to increase revenue through additional services and contract extensions.
• Preparing quotations, proposals and commercial packages tailored to customer requirements.
• Negotiating contract terms and pricing to achieve profitable outcomes.
• Building relationships with key decision-makers and developing long-term customer partnerships.
• Working alongside operational teams to identify opportunities and ensure customer expectations are met.
• Monitoring sales performance, contract renewals and new business activity against agreed targets.
• Supporting the ongoing growth and commercial performance of the service department.

About You
We are looking for someone who is commercially minded, confident building relationships and motivated by both retaining existing business and winning new customers. You will have a proven ability to identify sales opportunities, negotiate effectively and develop customer accounts, alongside a good understanding of commercial performance and profitability.

Ideally, you will have:

• Experience in a Commercial Manager, Service Sales, Business Development, Account Management or Contract Management role.
• A background in selling, managing or retaining service contracts, maintenance agreements or similar solutions.
• A track record of generating new business and developing existing customer accounts.
• Strong negotiation skills and an understanding of pricing, margins and commercial performance.
• The ability to build effective relationships with customers and internal teams.
• A proactive, self-motivated and target-driven approach.
• Must have a UK Driving License.

Experience within a service-led environment would be advantageous. Backgrounds in HVAC, refrigeration, engineering services, building services, facilities management or similar technical sectors would be particularly relevant.
