Contracts Manager Water / Wastewater

Salary: £78,000 Package
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

We are currently looking to speak with an experienced Contracts Manager to join a well established civil engineering, overseeing the delivery of civil engineering projects within the water and wastewater sector.

This is a senior operational opportunity for an established construction professional with substantial water industry experience, looking to take responsibility for project delivery, operational performance and the management of site-based teams across a portfolio of works.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, commercially and in line with programme requirements, while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Overseeing the delivery of multiple water and wastewater civil engineering projects.

• Managing and supporting Site Agents, Site Managers and wider operational teams.

• Taking responsibility for programme, resources and overall project performance.

• Ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with contractual, commercial and technical requirements.

• Managing client relationships and attending progress and operational meetings.

• Monitoring project costs, budgets and commercial performance.

• Overseeing subcontractor procurement and performance.

• Ensuring health, safety, environmental and quality standards are maintained.

• Identifying and managing operational risks, implementing solutions where required.

• Reporting on project progress and performance to senior management.

• Supporting the continued development of operational teams and delivery processes.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Contracts Manager or in a similar senior operational management position within civil engineering.

• Essential: Strong experience delivering water and/or wastewater infrastructure projects.

• Proven experience overseeing multiple projects and managing site-based teams.

• Strong understanding of civil engineering construction methods and project delivery.

• Good commercial awareness and understanding of contractual requirements.

• Experience managing client relationships and subcontractors.

• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.

• Relevant construction qualifications, including SMSTS.

• Full UK driving licence.

Package

• Salary from £78,000 upwards, depending on experience.

• Additional package.

• Permanent, full-time position.
