In particular, understanding and championing the use of Digital, Data & Technology to achieve the service strategy, although not responsible for delivery.
You will make a difference by focussing on strategic initiatives and planning activities for your business area, striving to understand service challenges, including client needs, demand issues and operating as the key business contact promoting IT services and capabilities.
What you will be doing
You will be acting as the key strategic liaison across all Departmental service areas and the ITD Service, in support of Service Managers (and nominated Business Owners).
It will be your responsibility to identify technical requirements and lead on the delivery of the solution, whilst also identifying training and support requirements, co-ordinating training programmes for new and existing staff and the implementation of new and existing technical solutions and procedures.
You will collaborate with DMT (Digital Management Team) to develop annual budgets for respective Digital, Data & Technology solution developments over and above the annual maintenance contracts for solutions already in place.
It will key for you to develop high level “road maps” and business cases for new investments by building consensus across the Department.
You will perform initial analysis and prepare recommendations and business plans as needed
Ensure that services have the Digital, Data & Technology solutions they need, when they need them, and in the format best suited to their requirements
You will line manage a small team across two disciplines of identifying and supporting the implementation of technical solutions and providing operational support and training to the department.
What we need from you
It is essential that you have a degree in a relevant subject or equivalent experience.
We expect you to have a strong record of delivery using communication, networking and influencing skills evidenced by use at a senior level in a complex operating environment.
