• Remote Engagement – Alternative channels across the medical and commercial continuum to engage with HCPs (healthcare professionals) and patients.
• Field Outsourced Solutions – Tailored field team programs to meet a wide range of objectives and client needs.

Purpose of Role

The Director, Medical Solutions within Amplity Health has responsibility for leading and managing a department that includes multiple projects led by Senior Managers. They will enjoy working with a multitude of our leading pharmaceutical, biotech and medical clients from inception throughout the lifecycle of our programs. You will be involved in shaping and defining of client proposals, presenting at pitches, internal & external meetings and be involved in high level leadership discussions.

This senior, pivotal role is responsible for leading the successful implementation of global outsourced solutions projects from recruitment, through the Talent Acquisition (TA) team, to onboarding and operational effectiveness via the management team.

You will play a key role in shaping and leading business strategy, collaborating with colleagues in other parts of Amplity Health and championing our culture and values. Ensuring that processes and ways of working within Global Medical Solutions are efficient, effective, and make effective use of tools, models, and technology within Amplity Health.

You will engage in broad discussion and exploration on all aspects of existing Clients’ needs, with the ability to involve Managers, Account Directors, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Consultants to ensure we provide the best service possible. Winning, retaining and expansion will be key goals for the role.

The specific deliverables being managed can vary and is defined in the contract Amplity Health holds with the client organisation.

Responsibilities typically include:

• Ownership of short to mid-term (1-3 years) execution of functional strategy and the operational direction of the department or unit
• Seeing the big picture but working tactically and operationally for the day to day needs in our Medical Solutions division
• Representing Medical Solutions in front of Clients, internal and external stakeholders and providing data and insights to support the Senior leadership team.
• Problem solving that is often complex and requires extensive investigation and analysis
• The ability to influence others to accept practices and approaches, and ability to communicate and influence executive leadership
• Client ownership and accountability
• Project Management

The VP, Global Medical Solutions will liaise closely with this role to ensure the quality of our recruitment, onboarding and on-going management of our teams sets a new standard for the industry, inspires talented individuals to want to join the company and is consistent with the overall Amplity Health vision. Key to achieving this is the ability and quality of our managers, therefore the recruitment, management, and accountability for this group of individuals is key.

Key accountabilities:

Clients – External/Internal

• Create and manage excellent working relationships and partnerships with designated Clients.
• Work closely with Business Development on new business opportunities and provide feedback that will help shape the opportunity as valuable and solutions oriented.
• Contribute to and attend Client pitches
• Work closely with Account Directors on new business opportunities acting as Medical Solutions SME to plan for the implementation stage and ensure Manager resource is in place (or recruited) as early as possible.

• Develop and maintain positive relationships with relevant stakeholders in client organisation to ensure our partnership is developed, there is always Client satisfaction, timely resolution of issues, all opportunities to renew and expand are explored, compliance and regulatory standards are upheld and maintained.
• Encourage collaboration and innovation within Amplity Health to help create exciting client solutions.
• Role model Amplity Health values and represent our brand, demonstrating sound judgment and integrity in all aspects of the role.
• Stay up to date on the industry and trends developing within Clients.
• Use industry knowledge and news to share with Account Directors for potential new opportunities.
• Assist as needed with wide team on ad-hoc duties as required and as appropriate to the role.
• Collaborate and meet regularly with colleagues and client as appropriate driving consistency in approach, regular updates, and quarterly business reviews with all Clients.
• Share best practice and feedback to drive improved business performance internally.
• Help to shape and lead strategy and be the ‘voice for the field teams’ within the Medical Solutions business.

People

• Coach, manage and lead the Managers to create a high performing culture that drives successful business implementations and sets and industry standard in terms of quality.
• Support the process of recruiting and interviewing potential Managers as part of the implementation of a new team.
• Direct and support the onboarding of new managers and their on-going professional development, especially their ability to coach field-based teams in core skills e.g., scientific engagement and presentation skills.
• Communicate the Client Journey model and strategy across the business and engage others to provide the necessary support throughout the implementation phase.
• Recognise, reward, and encourage individual achievements whilst maintaining a cohesive and collaborative team culture.
• Collaborate with colleagues in People (HR) teams to support Managers to manage any performance or employee relations issues within teams, take a strategic and proactive approach to create solutions before any concerns become significant challenges.
• Understand employment laws and liaise closely with People (HR) teams to mitigate any employment risks.
• Set expectations with team around performance, providing clear goals and direction and managing/removing any barriers to success, clarify appropriate communication routes.
• Identify training needs and work with internal departments to create interventions utilizing Amplity Health’s platforms.
• Understand co-employment laws and liaise closely with Human Resources to mitigate any risks.
• Motivate, retain, and develop team to progress towards an aligned vision and goal.

Processes

• Liaise with People (HR) Team to raise employment contracts and necessary onboarding documentation for any new Managers that join.
• Approve absence requests in accordance with company guidelines.
• Manage all employees in accordance with Company policies and country standards e.g., absence, disciplinary, performance etc. Provide reports as required for Leaders in the organization.
• Aid in the creation of KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and measures to enable our medical teams to perform at an elevated level for clients and to create standards for Amplity.
• Monitor individual and team performance against KPIs, collate insights and prepare any reports that add genuine value to strategy.
• Respond to queries and questions related to team in a timely and supportive way.
• Share relevant Amplity Health and client procedures and processes to ensure team operate within a compliant framework and in accordance with legal requirements.
• Conduct regular team 1:1s, working with People (HR) teams on any appropriate interventions, development or issues that arise.
• Work closely with wider team and business to ensure key information and feedback is shared to improve future proposals and client offerings.
• Work in conjunction with People (HR) Team and Managers to redeploy and/or process any leavers.
• Through keeping up to date with the industry drive new ways of working and process improvements in line with industry news and trends.
• Develop and implement appropriate processes to ensure operational effectiveness of team.
• Share insights and business opportunities with Business Development team for follow up.

Financials

• Always negotiate any Manager offers in line with budget prepared and where these exceed outlined budget, liaise with Finance to gain approval.
• Ensure self and team operate within any financial budgets allocated.
• Approve all travel and expenses incurred by team in accordance with company policies and within agreed timelines.
• Provide input into any financial planning and control procedures as required.
