Dornan is currently recruiting for an Electrical Engineer to work within a team on a new Data Centre development in West London.

Role and Responsibilities

1. Support the Engineering Manager
2. Prepare and submit technical submittals for approval
3. Liaise with vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, specialist designers, manufacturers, etc., regarding the specification, validation, and value engineering of products and equipment supplied to the project
4. Assist with project engineering and design development
5. Liaise and coordinate with clients’ design team members and contractors on technical and commercial issues
6. Assist with pre-construction engineering activities and the production of information including design development, construction details, technical submittals, subcontracts, etc.
7. Assist with services coordination exercises and resolve coordination issues
8. Provide technical support to estimating, procurement, commercial, marketing, and construction teams

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

Experience Required

Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role with Telecoms, BMS, and EPMS knowledge

Understanding of LV and HV distribution, containment systems, lighting systems, lighting controls, and small power systems

Commissioning experience, particularly with EPMS/BMS systems

Strong technical ability in all aspects of Electrical Engineering Services

Proactive with the ability to work independently

Knowledge of current IS, BS, EN, and IEC standards

Experience in client, vendor, and contractor interactions and management

Good communication skills and ability to work in multifunctional teams

Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills

Experience with Amtech, Dialux, AutoCAD, and MS Office Suite

Proficiency in Navisworks tools

High attention to detail and accuracy
