Employers’ Agent – Interim / Contract Role

We are looking for an experienced and qualified Employer’s Agent to join our team and act as our liaison with key stakeholders in the pre-contract construction of residential units/housing projects. This is a remote-based role, outside of IR35, for initially 3 months, with the possibility of extension.

Before the Design and Build contract is awarded, the employer’s agent will:

• Develop the client brief to define the client’s goals, objectives and expectations
• Compile a pre-tender estimate for the cost of delivering the project
• Develop an outline project programme
• Lead the professional team, including architect, designers and specialist consultants, to fully appraise the project feasibility and site suitability
• Advise the client on the outcome and remediation recommendations of matters arising from site investigations
• Compile the Employer’s Information Requirements (EIR) and tender documentation ahead of the pre-tender process
• Provide due diligence and advice on matters including warranties, licences, bonds and consents
• Manage the tender process on behalf of the employer to appoint the most appropriate contractor for the project
• Prepare the design and build contract documents to appoint the successful contractor
• Sign off the appointed contractor’s detailed design

Key skills and Qualifications:

• A relevant degree or qualification in construction, engineering, surveying, or related field
• A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Employer’s Agent, Project Manager, Contract Administrator, or similar role in the construction industry
• A thorough knowledge of the pre-contracts construction process, standards, and regulations
• Must be commercially astute and strong a negotiator.
• Track record of delivering Residential pre-contract services
• Periodic site visits on behalf of client
• Experience managing key relationships with internal / external stakeholders
