An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to join a well-established Finance team based at the clients Runcorn site. The role is pivotal in managing the day-to-day financial operations of the Warehouse, adding value to the client and the business while achieving key operational performance objectives. This position reports to the Retail Commercial Manager with functional reporting to the Regional General Manager.

Day to day duties include:

• Direct line management of the Assistant Accountant & the Site Receptionist.
• Budget responsibility for a circa £16m operating budget.
• Provide financial support for new project requirements, liaising with relevant team members to deliver accurate reporting to track project spend.
• Manage financial activities to add value and achieve key operational performance objectives, including the reduction of accruals on the balance sheet.
• Support Continuous Improvement (CI) and project benefit tracking with operations and development teams.
• Prepare and deliver the Warehouse customer budget and reforecast process.
• Ensure financial control requirements are met, providing a reliable service to the operation whilst meeting budgetary requirements.
• Develop and maintain a motivated team, providing direction, feedback, and effectively monitoring performance.
• Manage the monthly and weekly reporting requirements for the business.
• Participate in the budget processes and review of outputs.
• Communicate key performance targets clearly and persuasively.
• Maintain strong internal financial controls in line with business policies.
• Ensure all financial procedures are timely and efficiently managed in line with procedures.
• Conduct audits in line with company policy, procedure, and financial regulations.
• Support the site management team with regular information relating to performance and budgets.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Recognised accounting qualification (ACCA/ CIMA/ ACA) or currently studying towards one.
• Logistics Experience
• Sound budgeting, forecasting, and reporting knowledge with the ability to identify and communicate variances.
• Proficient ledger knowledge and technical ability.
• Proven leadership and management skills.
• Understanding of open/closed book contracts.
• Knowledge of the relationship between KPIs and cost drivers to financial management and performance of the contract against budgets and forecasts.
