Finance Manager (Travel industry)

Salary: £40k – £50k + great benefit package

Location: Brighton

Hours: Mon – Fri 9am – 17.30 (part time option of 4 days for the right person)

(hybrid working is available – full time 3 days in the office and 2 days from home)

Do you want to work for a vibrant, and modern organisation is a well-established travel company and they are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Finance Manager to head up their finance function is their local office in Brighton (hybrid working options and part time 4 days a week).

You will already have a proven background as a finance manager, ideally within the travel industry, however this is not a necessity.

The role will focus on the production of timely and accurate management information for the Directors as well as manging the finance assistant and ensuring that they accountancy function is efficient and is well organised.

Responsibilities:

• Play key role in maintaining financial processes and reporting, reporting to Directors.
• Prepare timely monthly management accounts including analysis.
• Prepare annual budget, P+L, cashflow and/or balances sheet forecasts as required.
• Manage foreign currency contracts, supplier payments and fx analysis.
• Complete tax, regulatory and compliance requirements including VAT returns.
• Process monthly payroll and manage company benefits.
• Support month-end and year-end close process, including liaison with auditors.
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
• Critically appraise and improve business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls to find efficiency and value.
• Support Directors/Owners with ad hoc financial modelling and business strategy.
• Adhering to the audit process and meeting regulatory requirements.

The right candidate will have the following skills and experience to apply for the role:

• Proven background as a Finance Manager/Controller
• Ideally AAT/ACCA qualified but it is not a necessity.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
• Proven experience in month-end and consolidation processes.
• Great IT skills inclusive of Excel and accountancy software packages, ideally SAGE.
• Highly analytical with great attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and organisation skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Travel industry knowledge is an advantage.
• A natural problem solver that can take ownership of projects, processes, and workflow.
