A leading Defence business is currently recruiting for either an (Graduate) Commercial Officer OR Assistant Contracts Manager on a fulltime permanent basis in Marlow (hybrid working).

The Graduate Commercial Officer / Assistant Contracts Manager will be responsible to actively support the winning and delivery of profitable business and provide commercial support and governance to the business by ensuring the company contracts with customers and suppliers on terms that protect the business.

Roles:

• (Graduate) Commercial Officer – up to C. 30,000 + benefits
• Asst Contracts Manager – up to C. 45,000 + benefits

Location – Marlow, Buckinghamshire (hybrid working)

Key responsibilities for Graduate Commercial Officer / Assistant Contracts Manager job role and not limited to:

• Support bids under the guidance of the Head of Contracts & Commercial to support responses to customer opportunities
• Reviewing and summarising key contract clauses within existing contracts or new contract under negotiation in conjunction with company policies
• Undertaking initial commercial pricing assessment of high value US DoD bids
• Maintaining a Contracts Database for the company.
• Review and provide the company with commercial support in relation to confidentiality agreements and ensuring relevant registers are maintained
• Managing and administrating and ensuring due diligence activities are up-to-date for business Intermediary Agreements and relevant registers are maintained.
• Support the drafting of appropriate supplier flow downs and appropriate subcontracting documentation for the supply chain.

Key skills and experience required for (Graduate) Commercial Officer / Assistant Contracts Manager role and not limited to:

• Eligible to gain UK (SC) Security Clearance
• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
• Assistant Contracts Manager
  • Proven experience within a Commercial and/or Contract orientated
  • Working knowledge of contracts and standard contracting terms for supply of goods and services
• Commercial Officer
  • Ideally a degree in Law, Business, Economics or suitable commercial contracts equivalent experience.
