Do you have experience within a similar role with good knowledge of UK employment law?

As our HR Generalist / Advisor you will be part of our Group HR team, working closely with the UK HR Business Partner and collaborating with the Group Head Office HR Manager and HR Assistants. You will be involved in a variety of HR matters, supporting the optimisation of our HR processes, and providing key advice and administrative support to the UK workforce.

The successful candidate will join our team in a site-office based role at our Cowdenbeath site in Fife Scotland.

Rock Solid Processing Ltd is part of the VHB group of companies. We are experts in processing incinerator bottom ash (IBA) recovering metals and producing aggregates for the construction industry.

Duties include

• Primary contact person on-site for staff, Team leader and Operations Manager for personnel issues and employment advice for managers.
• Prepare, review, and manage employment contracts, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
• Handle and resolve employee-related queries efficiently.
• Manage employee absences and accurately record sickness leave.
• Process administrative tasks for recurring HR processes, such as performance reviews, training, certifications.
• Record and manage employee changes (e.g., promotions, transfers, terminations).
• Help coordinate and arrange employee training and development programs.
• Organise company events such as employee anniversaries, birthdays, and other milestones. Contribute to internal newsletters and manage content creation.
• Answer HR-related queries from internal and external parties, including phone and email support.
• Assist with the creation of onboarding induction programs for new hires in collaboration with relevant teams.
• Contribute to the personal development of employees through training and skill development programs.
• Develop and update job descriptions to align with organisational needs.
• Register new employees in the HR system (Polaris), and collect relevant documentation.

Vacancy: HR Advisor

Location: Cowdenbeath, Scotland

Salary: £32,500 depending on experience

Hours: Part time, 32 hrs per week over 4 days, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday

Contract: Maternity cover, fixed term until April 2027
