Gleeson Logistics are currently partnering with an established Manufacturing & Engineering business based in the West Midlands in their search for an Indirect Buyer.

As a Buyer Capital Equipment and Services, you’ll bring experience of working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure a successful commercial outcome, a basic knowledge of contract law and experience of working within cross functional unit teams to deliver procurement scope to support a new facility fit out.

• Collaborate with the Facilities Manager to ensure proper scheduling, execution, and documentation of maintenance tasks.
• Oversee all aspects of Manufacturing tooling, consumables, workwear, and both planned and reactive maintenance.
• Coordinate maintenance contracts for plant and machinery, including tracking TPM sheets.
• Manage service agreements with consumable providers and oversee statutory inspections.
• Coordinate both on-site and off-site (customer’s sites) hire purchases.
• Handle service contracts such as cleaning, waste management, and welfare.
• Provide support for inbound and outbound transportation.
• Solicit and process quotes following procedures, issue purchase orders for consumables and services.
• Cultivate and manage relationships with suppliers, negotiating costs, discounts, long-term agreements, and terms.
• Place accurate purchase orders, expedite deliveries to ensure on-time and complete fulfilment with no invoice issues.
• Identify and implement cost-saving measures within budget and lead time constraints.
• Expedite both externally and internally to support operational functions in timely goods and services delivery.
• Obtain Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS) from subcontractors as necessary.
• Assist in managing subcontractors on-site when required.
• Update databases and registers, ensuring accurate progress tracking and reporting.
• Address and resolve any invoice queries.
• Log indirect spend against budget and report KPIs on a weekly/monthly basis.
• Prepare and meticulously manage annual budgets.
• Perform ad-hoc duties as needed.

• 2 yrs + Procurement & Manufacturing
• Capex Experience
• 2 Yrs Indirect
