Are you passionate about technology and sustainability? My client is a FTSE 250 renewables firm who are at the forefront of driving the world towards zero carbon? Due to an exciting transformation, they seek an IT Category Manager to cover a broad variety of subcategories; including but not limited to connectivity & telco, data services, hardware, hosting and infrastructure, software & applications, technology services.

This market leading energy firm endeavours to lead initiatives which facilitate an increasingly sustainable planet via the delivery and diversification of green energy solutions. This market leading energy organisation has amalgamated Millions of customers and subsequently commands a substantial market share in the energy scene due to their stratospheric growth and investment.

This Utilities Giant seek an ambitious, creative and IT savvy Procurement Manager to play a vital role in driving growth in an exciting period of procurement transformation. The IT Procurement Manager will play a crucial role, utilising their knowledge of both procurement & IT trends, innovations and technologies to innovate and improve the company’s commercial metrics and deliver a spend of circa £80 million.

This opportunity operates on a hybrid working culture (1 day required in the London office a week), the firm are offering a competitive salary up to 70k, 15% bonus and 9% flex benefit & much more!

Role Accountabilities:

This is a unique opportunity within a greenfield procurement function, whereby the IT Procurement Manager has scope and autonomy to drive forward technology category strategies in a fast paced agile environment.

• Develop leading category strategies and manage the end to end sourcing of a variety of IT related subcategories such as Cloud, Software, Licensing, Telco and Professional Services.
• Market mapping and maintaining strong knowledge of technologies, trends and relevant supply markets to drive future growth, reduce risk and ensure compliance.
• Continually innovating to deliver cost savings, increased value and commercial benefit.
• Implement procurement systems which aid the execution of opportunities that facilitate business growth and development. Support IT innovation projects and emerging technologies which enable the sales and delivery of a variety of energy related products.
• Help to enable suppliers to gain optimum returns on their investment and innovations.
• Analyse and capitalise on datasets which indicate areas for improvement relating to both category spend and supplier performance.
• Creating effective category budgets, remuneration models and managing contracts relating to agency fees.
• Support the wider objectives of striving to deliver cheaper and greener energy solutions.

Your Competencies:

• Strong procurement experience with a track record of delivering cost-savings and category improvement. 3 – 8+ year of procurement, strategic sourcing or category management experience.
• Previous experience in Technology related Procurement and familiarity dealing with the associated subcategories such as IT software and services
• The ability to apply your procurement experience and effectively utilise procurement functions (such as but not limited to P2P and Source to Contract).
• Enthusiastic, pragmatic, capable and collaborative professional who wants to do right thing for environment and help make the world a better place.
