The Role

Overall purpose

This is a business support role. You will support the business with commercial contracting, managing risks, and delivering excellent client service.

The role is suitable for a junior lawyer with experience in commercial and contract law, or an experienced paralegal or professional with a legal background experienced in contract drafting and negotiation. We welcome all relevant experiences.

Key responsibilities include:

• Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts (e.g., statements of work, master service agreements, confidentiality and license agreements)
• Preparing tender frameworks and responses for public and private sector clients
• Ensuring data protection and GDPR compliance
• Managing and updating company policies
• Advising on broader commercial issues as needed

If legally qualified, additional responsibilities include:

• Identifying and protecting intellectual property
• Managing and expanding trademarks
• Keeping up with regulatory changes and delivering training

Person specification:

• Experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
• Excellent organizational skills and multitasking ability
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written
• Self-motivated team player
• Proactive in anticipating needs
• (For Junior Legal Counsel) Ability to provide practical, clear legal advice without complex jargon

This is a part-time role (40-50%) with flexible hours. The role involves hybrid working, with at least one day in the office weekly and an additional day per month for team meetings.
