MEP Contracts Manager / Operations Manager – Cambridge – £80 – £100k

A well respected Mechanical and Electrical Contractor is looking to recruit a Mechanically biased Operations Manager to head up their Cambridge office.

Managing the day to day operational aspects of the business, you will oversee managers working on clients engagements, with the office primarily focusing on MEPH Schemes in Education and Commercial new builds and refurbishments, with packages ranging from £2 – 12M.

You will ensure excellence in all areas of delivery, financial reporting, profit generation and the development of directly reporting colleagues, creating a good working environment, career development and honest communications policy.

You will maximise profit margins, exploring delivery efficiencies and utilising alternative installation methods and materials where possible to ensure accurate invoicing. Monitoring receivables for all projects under your direction including comparing financial data for projects and seeking ways to maximise revenue.

You will analyse profitability, revenue and margins for projects under your control and analyse and review working practices in line with company procedures, representing the client in a professional and positive manner.

You will constantly review staff performance, increase, and reduce resource to suit workload and accurately forecast revenue, profitability, and margins across projects.

You will handle difficult personnel situations, using appropriate discretion, HR advice and respect for the individual and help determine new, creative ways to employ teams on projects and distribute responsibilities.

You will produce weekly and monthly management reports to include prospects, new business wins, work in progress, monthly invoicing and monthly forecasting.
