People Partner – Head Office

This role would be perfect for an experienced HR professional to lead and create people solutions and help shape the culture, structures, and processes across the Head Office Teams.

The Mountain Warehouse People team has an evolving People Strategy with an emphasis on providing all of our colleagues with a great experience and becoming an employer of choice. We’re building great foundations ready to take forward systems, engaging colleague initiatives, progressive policies and development to support our colleagues becoming the best they can.

The role partners with our Senior Leadership Teams and works very closely with all of the People Team. We are a small, effective, value adding team who are excited about the future growth of our people at MW. We are working incredibly hard to create a modern colleague offer that supports our intentions to champion our People.

Key Focusses

• Partner with the business to scale effectively, considering succession planning, organisational design, business change – understand and support the opportunities and challenges for their teams
• Embrace new ways of working and onboard and champion new systems, ensuring data and outputs are analysed, prioritised and communicated and to identify trends and support people improvements
• Be the guardian for all HO People Policies/contracts/handbooks, ensuring these are embraced by the Business and are supporting the overall People Strategy
• Support the delivery of the MW EDIB plan to create cultural adoption and ensuring all of our policies, processes and engagement are aligned
• Provide teams with pragmatic advice and unlock solutions to enable great overall people decisions
• Ensure the onboarding and offboarding of all MW colleagues is a great experience
• Coach, influence, guide departments across the Head Office team, to ensure strong people performance and high performing teams
• Identify opportunities and improvements across the business and help support delivering change though creative solutions
• Create a Comms Strategy which focusses on driving a One Team approach across MW, supported by recognition, surveys and feedback, engagement and wellbeing
• Support a widening Rewards and Benefits offer by focussing on new and existing partners, creating strong communications to embed and analysing their impact
• Collaborate closely with the wider People Team to support with seamless delivery of all People activities and initiatives including our People Strategy
• Manage a small, engaged People Operations Team to include a new Internal Comms role

We’d love to meet someone with

• Demonstrable experience of working within a fast-paced People role – retail HR experience preferable.
• Proven experience in supporting and driving the People strategy business wide.
• Expert knowledge in multiple human resource disciplines including employee engagement and retention, organisational development, employee relations, performance management and communications
• Excellent experience and knowledge of employment law and current legislation
• A natural problem solver, using sound judgment to creatively remove obstacles
• Experience collaborating with business leaders at a variety of levels to create people plans, solve problems, and influence change.
• Able to provide clear and concise advice and guidance to line managers, while maintaining a strong and effective working relationship where managers want to seek advice
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail
• Able to prioritise, organise, and report back accurately and concisely
• Highly confidential, resourceful, and resilient
• Strong communicator with the ability to influence and engage various audiences
• Enjoy bringing new ideas and networks to the People team

Key Requirements/Experience

• Experience within Retail head office or a multisite brand ideally with an international presence.
• Relationship management, especially at managerial and stakeholder levels
• Logical, analytical and problem-solving skills for evaluating business metrics and determining ways to make improvements.
• Managing end to end processes.
• Comprehensive understanding of employment laws, including inclusion and diversity programmes.
• Comprehensive understanding of the industry, focus area and business trends.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks and requirements.
