Job Title: Project Manager (Refurbishment/Listed Buildings)

Location: Hampshire

Salary: £75,000 – £85,000 + Car Allowance + Pension + Holiday

Start Date: February or March

Are you an experienced Construction Project Manager seeking a new challenge? Do you possess expertise in listed/heritage contracts? If so, we want to hear from you! We are currently collaborating with a client offering a unique opportunity to contribute to a high-profile scheme.

This client is scheduling interviews in February, with an estimated start date from March onwards.

Overview:

As the Project Manager, you will spearhead a £20 Million package on a single project spanning 18 months. This project has a multiple of single / two storey buildings being converted into a range of uses across a large campus.

Your responsibilities will encompass all aspects from planning to execution and final handover. You will lead a team of 3-5 managers, including some commercial staff, whilst reporting to an onsite Project Director.

Responsibilities:

• Regulations: Ensure compliance with local and national regulations, obtaining necessary permits prior to commencing work.
• Historical Research: Conduct research on building history, architectural style, and preservation guidelines.
• Assessment and Planning: Evaluate the building’s condition and develop a comprehensive refurbishment plan.
• Specialists Engagement: Collaborate with architects, conservationists, and experts experienced in listed buildings.
• Preservation Techniques: Implement appropriate methods to maintain historical integrity and protect original features.
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans to ensure safety and structural stability.
• Stakeholder Communication: Maintain open communication with property owners, heritage organisations, and local communities.
• Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of work, expenses, and approvals.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Construction Project Manager, specialising in fit-out and refurbishment projects.
• Demonstrated experience working with listed buildings, understanding the unique challenges and processes involved.
• Managed either large packages on a major project or delivered projects ranging from £8 Million to £20 Million.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage project teams effectively.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Relevant qualifications in construction management or a related field.
