We are an industry leader within the UK Building Sector with a turnover in excess of £60 million and are on a growth trajectory as we continue to expand in new markets. As such we are hiring for a Quantity Surveyor to specialise within the Data Centre sector:

On our Projects within the Data Centre Sector, we assume role of Specialist Prefab M&E Contractor, meaning we have control of all elements of our build;

Design,
Chilled Water Distribution Systems,
LTHW Distribution Systems,
Plantrooms,
Electrical Distribution Modules
Delivery,
Installation,

Job Title Quantity Surveyor (Data Centres)
Location HQ Office (Banbridge) or Belfast Office (Mallusk)
Hours 38hrs per week; 8.00am to 5pm Mon to Thurs, 8.00am to 3pm Friday
Salary Competitive depending on experience
Responsible to QS Lead Data Centres

Key Responsibilities

• Be responsible for securing the successful financial delivery of projects by controlling costs, progressing monthly valuations, and managing variations and change orders.
• Liaising with contracts, estimating and pre-construction teams to obtain full understanding of each project scope.
• Possess awareness of different forms of contract – to ensure the company remains protected throughout a Project.
• Review & collate subcontractor package awards.
• Engage Sub-contractors, handle negotiations, prepare sub-contract documents.
• Track & maintain monthly job performance reporting and feedback the same to QS Lead; Data Centre.
• Prepare on-time monthly valuations following site measurements and work-in-progress reviews and follow up to make sure that payments are received on time as per the agreed contract conditions.
• Vette and process monthly subcontractor payments.
• Undertake at least one monthly site visit and report progress back to management.
• Attend monthly commercial meetings to provide update on any ongoing contract specific negotiations and overall job performance.
• Assist in the commercial activities of the business and provide support/advice in this regard to the Projects Managers as required.
• Any other duties deemed necessary by management

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Essential Criteria:

• Third level qualification in a Surveying or Cost Engineering discipline or can demonstrate an equivalent level of experience.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar Commercial role.
• Commercially astute and ambitious.
• Strong knowledge of different Forms of Contract; such as JCT, NEC & FIDEC.
• High standard of organisational and time management skills.
• High level of IT literacy, especially in Microsoft Packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
• Excellent written and verbal communication & negotiation skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent client engagement skills.
• Current UK Driving License.
