The Opportunity

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a solid background in groundworks and civil engineering
Do you want a role that combines autonomy, flexibility, and the chance to make a visible impact

This position offers a hybrid working pattern, combining home-based work with regular site visits across Berkshire and Oxfordshire.
You ll play a key role in managing the financial performance and commercial delivery of projects, ensuring profitability and compliance across all stages.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the commercial management of assigned projects.
• Oversee cost control, forecasting, and cash flow throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare and submit valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts.
• Manage subcontract procurement and payment processes.
• Ensure all contractual obligations, notices and records are maintained accurately.
• Lead on re-measurement, variations, and value engineering to maximise entitlement.
• Produce accurate monthly CVR reports and profit projections.
• Support the Commercial Manager on wider commercial initiatives.

About You

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within groundworks or civils contracting.
• Excellent numerical, analytical, and communication skills.
• Strong working knowledge of construction methods, materials, and contracts.
• Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel & Outlook).
• Commercially astute, detail-driven, and confident working independently.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management (or equivalent).
• Full UK driving licence travel between home, sites, and office required.
