The purpose of this job is to project manage a substantial proportion of the Housing Capital Programme – c10m per annum. This will involve management of the internal team, contracts, technical consultants and contractors, ensuring value for money, qualitative outcomes and meeting spend targets.

Description

• Project managed contracts to ensure value for money is achieved; that work is carried out according to programme and to a high standard.
• To forecast spend and profile of work to ensure budget projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• To work closely with the programme manager to help lead and manage a team of people working on the capital programme
• To ensure that the contractors have time properly and associated asset information to enable work to be carried out; This will include Condition, FRA, Repair Data and asbestos survey information
• Ensuring effective budget control with no underspends or overspends
• Ensuring that there are mechanisms in place to post inspect work, and that there are proper controls to ensure correct payment to contractors

Profile

A successful Senior Project Manager should have:

• Proven experience in managing new build housing projects within the Public Sector.
• Strong knowledge of property development and construction processes.
• Excellent project management skills, including budgeting and scheduling.
• Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance standards in the housing sector.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
• A relevant professional qualification in project management or construction.
