One of our favourite London clients is looking for a senior level block manager to join their small but really solid team where you’ll be running a well-managed portfolio of approx 12-15 residential buildings in Kensington, Chelsea and Battersea. The portfolio is a range of delightful high-quality mansion blocks with on-site staff plus the odd high-rise and where clients are looking for a professional service in keeping with their style.

We’re expecting to recruit someone with at least 5+ years’ relevant experience as a block manager who has dealt with all aspects of running a portfolio with some fairly complex buildings including maintenance, repairs and service contracts, major works, budgets and expenditure etc. It’s likely that you’ll have gained this with an independent managing agent where you’ve had a 360 role but we wouldn’t rule out someone from a larger property group.

Responsibilities include:

• Running a portfolio of high-end mansion style residential blocks
• Maintenance of the communal areas
• Liaising with contractors re maintenance and major works
• Site visits to ensure buildings are in good order
• Overseeing on-site staff
• Knowledge of service charge budgets and managing expenditure

Skills required:

• At least 5+ years’ experience as a residential block property manager
• Good experience of section 20 process and major works
• Budgets and expenditure
• Health and safety and fire regulation compliance
• Good organisational, communication skills and attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
