Our client, a leading Tier 1 contractor in the UK water sector, is delivering a major £100 million water and wastewater treatment project in East London. This high-profile scheme is central to long-term infrastructure improvements, enhancing capacity, resilience, and environmental performance.

You will take day-to-day responsibility for managing key sections of the civil works on-site. Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will lead site teams, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure safe, efficient delivery of works in line with programme and quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily site operations across assigned work areas
• Supervise engineers, foremen, and subcontractors
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
• Monitor progress against programme and report on performance
• Coordinate materials, plant, and labour to meet project requirements
• Review technical drawings and ensure accurate implementation on-site
• Identify and mitigate risks and resolve on-site issues
• Maintain clear communication with the wider project team and stakeholders
• Ensure works are delivered to specification, on time, and within budget

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Site Agent or Senior Site Agent on civil engineering projects
• Background in water/wastewater or heavy civil infrastructure projects
• Experience working with Tier 1 or established contractors
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, contracts, and site management
• Excellent leadership and organisational skills
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and workstreams effectively
• Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering or similar
• SMSTS and CSCS required
