Subcontract Manager

In this role, the Subcontract Manager is responsible for ensuring managing a major subcontractor relationship on a single Project. In this role the person will be responsible for Leading the completion of negotiations on the final subcontractor Statement of Work.

• Managing the relationship and communications between subcontractor and the organisation.
• Developing appropriate metrics to monitor subcontractor performance against the statement of work Including cost, schedule, rates, staffing and technical measures. Using these metrics to identify risks and opportunities in sufficient time for action to be taken and ensure program success.
• Visiting subcontractor locations, to ensure compliance with terms of the Statement of work and performance obligations, such as certification.
• In the event of any dispute or non performance then lead discussion with supplier to resolve the issue. This may include corrective action and financial compensation.
• Integrating requirements between the Subcontractor and the program and serving as liaison between the program and subcontractor.
• Liaising with program manager to ensure the business meets its obligation under the statement of work.
• Ensuring that the supplier complies with all aspects of procedures, – financial, quality, technical and schedule performance.
• Ensure supplier performance against the statement of work so that the business can deliver against its contractual commitments to its customer.

Key Responsibilities

• Primary point of contact with the subcontractor.
• Liaison between the program team and subcontractor
• Monitoring the subcontractor and business deliverable to the subcontractor in order to identify risks and opportunities in sufficient time for action to be taken and ensure program success.
• Support the program office in overall program coordination for subcontractors, including reviews, meetings and staffing planning.
• Supporting program managers for all subcontractor activity, including external certification and customer test requirements.
• Visiting subcontractor locations, check subcontractor’s facilities and processes to ensure compliance with statement of work.
• Manage supplier delivery schedules and Inventory levels to ensure the business can meet customer commitments.

The ideal candidate will have strong programmatic and commercial expertise.

Required Skills:

• Experience with supply chain processes and procedures.
• Commercial contract negotiation and performance management experience
• Experience of delivering within an environment of complex external accreditation requirements
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships with program and technical community.
• SC or DV clearance

Desired Skills:

• 10+ years’ experience in any of the following areas: Subcontracts, Contracts, Program Management, Supply Chain or Supplier Management.
• Technical knowledge and experience related to systems engineering, software, firmware and hardware development within a defence or security engineering product development context.
