Works Manager

My Client in Workington is looking for a works manager.

This pivotal role involves overseeing operational processes. This is a highly demanding role taking full ownership of the Works of the business. You will lead a dedicated team and collaborate closely with all other areas in the business to drive continuous improvement and contribute to long term success for the business.

Key Accountabilities

• Managing the day-to-day operations of the site, implanting necessary changes and adhering to compliance procedures, laws and regulations.

• Developing, improving and implanting operations and production plans to meet company goals

• Ensure that all Health & Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed and updated.

• Timely close-out of E,H,S&Q actions.

• Reporting and investigating Accidents, Incidents and Near Misses in line with Company Processes.

• Manage the security across the site

• Responsible for the Facilities and Maintenance department, ensuring all compliance regulations are adhered to.

• Evaluating overall Operational performance

• Providing all necessary reports, assisting management in goal setting and promoting company growth and –

• Managing budgets within operations.

• Allocating the company resources, materials and equipment to the most productive functions, supply chain and delivery management

• Creating operation strategies implanting initiatives to reduce company costs and increase employee productivity

• Identifying and reporting Asset Management/Maintenance issues and monitoring close-out of actions and repairs.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience

• Proven experience as a Works Manager or equivalent position

• Experience in managing and leading a team in fast paced work environment within manufacturing

• Strong leadership and communication skills for training and motivating teams, creating the visions for the future of the company

• Excellent computer skills with the ability to analyse business intelligence and big data that identify revenues opportunities and operations improvements

• Problem-solving for improving processes, increasing efficiency and profits

• Expert knowledge of safety, efficiency and product quality standards

• Expertise in managing external partner relationships and contracts

• Knowledge of industry legal rules, guidelines and diverse business principles and functions
